My name is Gabriella (Gaby) Milazzo, but I have gotten popular on social media with the username ‘curlyfemme’. The name was inspired by my curly hair and my femininity, and it’s stuck ever since.
I like to center my life around creativity; whether through dance, makeup, film, or art. This site is a little window into my life as an artist and will include any works I am a part of or create.
Artistic Statement
As an artist, I want to explore how to combine the different elements of art I love in a way that is pleasing and unique. I am currently a student at the University of Florida studying to get a BFA degree in dance. In this program, I hope to expand myself as a dancer and choreographer. I am also on track to get a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology. After taking sociology in high school, I was so intrigued by the how the people around you can affect the type of person you are how I can implement sociological perspectives to my art. My goal is to create pieces with a deeper message; mainly inspired by my life as an immigrant and a feminist.
